SWEET POTATO DIGGING

Autumn is the Season of the harvest. Star Class travelled by school bus to a farm where they dug up sweet potatoes to bring back to school. They learned about, the structure of plants.Were surprised to see how deep the potato roots were below the ground.

The dirt, vine,and the struggle to pull the potatoes out of the ground provided rich authentic sensory experiences.Star Kids must work together to harvest the sweet potatoes, also offering an opportunity to exercise social and cultural awareness, empathy and understanding through the shared efforts.Much fun field trip Star Class place a lot of pride on their potatoes.
